Public Bike Profiles: Your Permanent Home for Showcasing Builds

One of the most requested features is finally here: public bike profiles with shareable links.

Unlike posting on forums where your build gets buried, or hoping for a feature on Instagram, your WatchMy.Bike bike page is permanent, searchable, and shareable.

How It Works

Publishing a Bike

  1. Make your profile Public
  2. Navigate to any bike in your dashboard
  3. Go to the "Sharing" tab
  4. Toggle "Publish this bike" to make it public
  5. Copy your shareable link

Your bike is now live at its own unique URL:

WatchMy.Bike/b/e54d665b-fb05-4595-9f39-abaae07cbcb4

Each bike gets its own permanent link that you can share anywhere – independently from your user profile. This means you can share individual bikes without exposing your entire collection.

What's Included

Public bike pages show:

  • Photos: Your bike gallery in full resolution
  • Specifications: Frame, groupset, wheels – everything you've added
  • Component List: With brands, models, and weights (if entered)
  • Distance & Wear: Distance/usage stats
  • Build Cost: Sum of component costs (optional – you control visibility)
  • Build Story: A text field for describing your build, modifications, or history

What's NOT shown:

  • Maintenance data (that stays private)
  • Documents (private)

Independence

Each bike has its own unique URL. Share one bike without sharing your others. Perfect for:

  • Selling a specific bike
  • Showcasing a new build
  • Getting feedback on a project bike

Permanence

Forums come and go. Social media posts get buried. Your WatchMy.Bike bike page stays at the same URL forever (as long as you keep it public).

This means:

  • Links you share today still work in 5 years
  • Search engines can index your bike
  • You build SEO value over time

Credibility

Selling a bike? Include your WatchMy.Bike link:

"Full spec sheet at WatchMy.Bike/b/e54d665b-fb05-4595-9f39-abaae07cbcb4"

Buyers see exactly what they're getting – every component, with brands and models.

Discoverability

I'm building features for bike discovery:

  • Browse public bikes by type
  • Search by components
  • Find similar builds

Publishing your bike puts it in front of other enthusiasts.

User Profiles

Want to showcase your entire collection? You can also create a public user profile at:

WatchMy.Bike/p/[your-username]

Your profile displays all bikes you've chosen to make visible, giving visitors a complete view of your stable.

Rich Social Previews

When you share your bike URL on Twitter, Slack, Discord, or Facebook, WatchMy.Bike generates a rich preview with:

  • Your bike's primary photo
  • Title and description
  • Key specs at a glance

No more posting links that show a generic image or no preview at all.

SEO Optimized

Every public bike page includes:

  • Proper meta tags
  • JSON-LD structured data
  • Fast loading times
  • Mobile-responsive design

This means search engines understand your page, and sharing works correctly everywhere.

Getting Started

Public bike pages are available on all plans, including the free Steel tier. Paid plans (Alloy and Carbon) add custom themes and branding options.

Here's what users are doing with public profiles:

  • Collectors documenting entire stables with 10+ bikes
  • Custom builders creating portfolios of their work
  • Sellers providing detailed specs for marketplace listings
  • Enthusiasts sharing builds on forums and Reddit

Coming Soon

I'm working on even more showcase features:

  • Embeddable widgets: Show your bikes on your own website
  • QR codes: Print and attach to your bike
  • Export to PDF: Generate a spec sheet document
  • Comparison mode: Side-by-side bike comparisons
